Wrecsam Tri Club’s races are run by athletes for athletes.  To produce a quality event we rely very heavily on a large army of volunteers who we do our best to try to reward for their service.  We are always looking for volunteers and if you have any family members or friends willing to help please contact us as soon as possible.

This is one of the many costs of organising a race.  Others include hire of leisure / changing facilities, first aid, Raynet, water safety, massage, policing, insurance, printing, copying, advertising, website maintenance, database support, postage, telephone calls, drinks, cups, bottles, energy bars, gels, race numbers, scaffolding, security barriers, speaker system, commentators, goody bags, prizes etc.

The work in organising a race normally starts 12 months prior to the race date, and from day one expenses are incurred.  In the past, as athletes we have all lost money when we have entered races and for various reasons have been unable to compete and told that there is no refund.  As race organisers we need entries early to help cover our initial outlay/costs.  With this in mind and to encourage early entry we have a generous refund policy – we retain only a minimum fee to cover our expenditure in processing your entry, subject only to receiving an email confirming both your withdrawal from the event and your current postal address by the dates specified below. After these dates the money is spent so we have to take the stance of most other race organisers and say “Sorry, no refund”.

We believe we are one of the few organisations who attempt to do this – at the end of the day your application is a binding agreement to compete and pay irrespective of circumstance.

REFUND CRITERIA

Email withdrawal is received by the race organiser on or before the following dates:

BALA MIDDLE                      Saturday 25^th May 2013 – refund £73.00

BALA STANDARD                Saturday 24^th August 2013 – refund £52.00

Telephone messages will not be accepted, but can be used to confirm we have receipt of email withdrawal.
