Wrecsam Tri Coaching – A Message from Bill
Over the last 6 months the club has increased its resource in terms of coaching experience and expertise. This will give much needed support to the established coaches who have served the club selflessly over many years.
Whilst the regular club sessions of track on a Wednesday evening and swimming at Gwyn Evans on Thursday evening are well established, we hope to now develop more sessions both formal and informal.
As club members this is your resource, so please feel free to tap into it and contact any of the coaches for help or advice on your triathlon journey.
New or potential members can also contact us at any time for an introductory chat or meet.
Coaching in respect of the bike is very difficult for safety and insurance reasons, hence why there is no regular bike session. However, we do now have a bike lead in the shape of Wilf Goodfellow and along with other coaches and members we have regular NON COACHED rides of varying distances, climbs etc. Most of these will include a cafe stop (they certainly will if I’m on it ) and chatting between members on these sessions can be a goldmine of tips, advice and shared experiences, regarding not only the bike, but everything triathlon.
We also have a run lead, Frances Owen who, again, along with other coaches and members will be hosting a variety of on and off road runs for all abilities. Keep an eye out on the Members Facebook page for these sessions and if there is anything else that you would like to see, let us know and if we can arrange or facilitate we will.
As we get more into summer we hope to put on some formal coaching sessions involving transitions and also brick sessions – watch this space.
Finally by way of introduction here’s the current coaching and lead staff:
